Minor assault case: Zubeen to rectify himself

Reacting to the judgment of a court regarding a 2013 case of slapping a minor, singer Zubeen Garg on Saturday said that he has accepted the verdict of the court and will “try” to rectify himself in the future.

“I have accepted the verdict of the court and will try to rectify myself in the future,” Zubeen said while speaking to media on Saturday. However, he maintained that as a senior, he would always point out the mistakes committed by his juniors.

In 2013, Zubeen had allegedly slapped the son of senior advocate Arup Borbora, for smoking in public and Borbora had lodged an FIR with the police following the incident. The District and Sessions Judge’s court of Kamrup (Metro) on Friday exempted the quantum of punishment on the ground that Zubeen will not break any law in next two years.
